Acromion  -  The oblong process at the top of the spine of the scapula
 
Calories  -  With a capital "C," a Calorie is the equivalent of a kilocalorie, or 1000 calories. With a lower-case "c," a calorie is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of a gram of water 1 degree Celsius (from 14.5 to 15.5 degrees Celsius).
 
Epicondyle  -  A protuberance at the end of a bone
 
Humerus  -  A bone in the top part of the arm that articulates with the scapula at the shoulder joint
 
Hydrostatic  -  An adjective meaning "immersed in water"
 
Iliac  -  Referring to the wide bone that forms the upper part of the hip bone
 
Isotope  -  An isotope is a form of an element that, while possessing the same number of protons as all other forms of the element, differs in its number of neutrons. Isotopes have the same atomic number as the other forms of the element, but different atomic weights. Radioactive isotopes emit alpha, beta, or gamma radiation.
 
Midaxillary  -  Pertaining to the mid-armpit
 
Olecranon process  -  The large part of the ulna that projects behind the elbow joint
 
Protein-energy malnutrition  -  Malnutrition caused by a deficiency of protein and kilocalories
 
Subcutaneous  -  Referring to underneath the skin
