The following is a list of the amount of time (in minutes) that it takes various students to get to school by bus:

 10 14 9 14 25 45 13 21 18 12 7 16 35 30 12 26 24 19 11 20
Use this data for the following problems.

Problem : What is the (mean) average number of minutes it takes to get to school by bus, according to the data?

19.05 minutes

Problem : Make a frequency distribution table for the data.

We cover the range with five intervals of length ten minutes:
 Intervals (in minutes) Frequency 0 - 9 2 10 -19 10 20 - 29 5 30 - 39 2 40 - 49 1 Total 20

Problem : What is the median number of minutes it takes to get to school by bus, according to the data?

17

Problem : Make a histogram for the data, using the frequency distribution table.

Minutes Spent on the Bus

Problem : In which time interval do the most students fall? The least?

10 - 19 ; 40 - 50 .

Problem : Do more students spend less than 10 minutes on the bus or 30 or more minutes on the bus?
