As anyone whose ever managed a team will tell you, it's not easy finding reliable players. Take S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury, for example. We know he got Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America and the rest of The Avengers to join his team without too much difficulty. But there's more to the story than what Hollywood tells us.
"Man, the dumbest thing I EVER DID as a manager was hold OPEN AUDITIONS for The Avengers," Fury recently shouted at us in an interview.
"Would you believe one dude showed up with his KID strapped to his chest in a BABY FREAKIN BJORN??? He said it was PART OF HIS SCHTICK! Called himself THE MIGHTY MANNY!!! (chuckles) Heroes, man. If only rare powers came with common sense."
In honor of The Avengers' theatrical release, Nick Fury walked us through his ten favorite crime-fighting candidates who just didn't make the cut. Click on to find out which potential Avenger's kryptonite was her own personality.
