Teaser trailer… James Bond teaser trailer. That's what we've got on our hands today, folks: the first official footage of Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond film, which'll be released in the US on November 9. It's been awhile since Bond's last outing—2008's strangely-named Quantum of Solace—so longtime Bond fans are probably pretty happy to see this 1:24 of beauty.
Here's what we know about Skyfall so far: it's directed by Sam Mendes, who has major films like American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Jarhead and Revolutionary Road under his belt. It features No Country for Old Men's chilling Javier Bardem as its main villain, although we don't really see him in the trailer (unless that's him hanging out in shadows at the end for just a second). It also brings Daniel Craig back to the title role, a welcome return for many fans (it may be controversial to say that Craig's Casino Royale is possibly the best Bond film of all time, but there are certainly some who think so). Unfortunately, this teaser doesn't reveal a whole lot to us except that the film's really nice-looking (which we should expect from Mendes); we'll have to wait a few months for the full trailer to get more of an idea about its plot. But, come on… it's good to see Bond back in action again, right?
