We suspect you're all just as geeked as we are to find out any information about the upcoming third installment of the Iron Man franchise. We've seen some photos from the set of Iron Man 3, and we have to tell you that trying to discern any concrete information from them is slightly more difficult than trying to fake enthusiasm for Gwyneth Paltrow. Please note that in this article there are definite spoilers about The Avengers and possible SPOILERS about Iron Man 3. So please don't read any further if you wish to remain spoiler free!

While we don't know the plot of the movie for sure yet, it is rumored that at one point in the movie Iron Man will travel to China to battle his biggest nemesis, Mandarin. Having seen these latest set photos, we’re still unclear as to what part of the movie these scenes could be from, or what importance they have to the plot. Filming is currently in progress; it began in May and is expected to go through until the end of September. Current rumors suggest there may be a cameo by S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill (played by How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders), last seen in The Avengers. If we can't get a Nick Fury cameo we'd still be pretty psyched to see any of the S.H.I.E.L.D team on-screen again.
In the first couple of snaps we see storefronts dressed up for the holidays, a sign advertising "Dillin's Christmas Trees", and an auto supply store with what looks to be a makeshift memorial out the front. Some photos show more detail of the auto supply's storefront; the building next to it looks bombed-out, and there's a giant crater in front of it. Other photos indicate just how much of a challenge shooting Christmas scenes in July are; there's snow on the ground in some shots, and it appears to be melting as fast as the crew can put it down.
In two of the final photos, there's what appears to be a giant barn pictured. Could this be a camouflaged hangout for our hero Tony Stark, or a hideout for rumored main villain(s) Mandarin or Radioactive Man? What’s the deal with the giant crater in front of the auto supply? Speaking of the Holidays, is Tony an eggnog kinda guy or is he more a gingerbread latte person? We'll have a little while to wait before we find out for sure —Iron Man 3 hits theaters April 2013.
Do you think Iron Man 3 will be the last film in the Iron Man series?
