With how ridiculously life-like computer graphics are these days, it's hard to believe that there was ever a time when video game heroes were represented by crude gatherings of giant pixels that often offered less detail than a cluster of Legos. Thankfully technology has advanced. That being said, those 8 and 16 bit graphics have a kitschy, throwback appeal that can't be denied (see last season's Community video game episode). So here we offer you a slideshow of your favorite characters in fantasy and sci-fi, rendered in glorious 8 and 16 bit form!
