Last Resort

This one's got no aliens, no monsters, no fantasy, and no sci-fi (to speak of), but it does have the ambitious look of a Hollywood high-tension military drama boiled down into television-sized bites. The story seems to start out as a somewhat familiar captain-goes-rogue-with-a-nuclear-submarine story, but takes an interesting twist when the submarine crew set up a community on a deserted island and declares themselves a sovereign nuclear power. Stars Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, and Robert Patrick and premieres on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8/7c.
