10. The Segway

This two wheeled transportational machine was set to revolutionize the way we got from here to there, and it was theorized that by the end of the 2000s our city's sidewalks would be an endless procession of these bustling devices. That never happened; in fact the closest we get to that today is that one-in-a-million helmeted bystander who promptly gets labeled as "that weirdo on that segway."
