In 1995, Microsoft had an idea so bad that the CEO Steve Ballmer eventually called it a situation "where we decided that we have not succeeded and let's stop." Ouch. What was it? A yellow smiley face wearing nerd gasses that was meant to be an interface for novice users, but caused almost nothing but headaches for its users.
