Ego resides within the "Black Galaxy" and is the only planetoid within the Marvel Universe that is a sentient being. Beneath the surface of Ego lies organ-like masses and a tremendous brain. He first appeared as an enemy to the mighty Thor who defeated him by creating fierce storms along his surface which stunned him into submission.
