Abe Sapien

Abe Sapien hails from the world of the mighty Hellboy and was originally a Marine biologist during the time of Abe Lincoln. He became involved with an occult organization that found a "jelly-fishlike deity" and was present at an arcane ritual performed on the creature that went awry. This transformed him into a fish like creature on the same day as Lincoln's death (hence the Abe moniker). He was cryogenically frozen and abandoned due to the outbreak of the Civil War until his discovery in 1978.
