We all know the story. Ichabod Crane, a superstitious schoolteacher, rides home late one night alongside the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. He is confronted by a horseman, and realizes with fright that the man's head is not on his shoulders, but on his saddle. Crane is never heard from again.
The legend of Sleepy Hollow is one of the oldest ghost stories in American history, published by Washington Irving in 1820. And the best part? The town really exists. We bravely traveled there for a Halloween adventure, and now that the ghosts are settled for another year, we bring you this slideshow of our trip up the haunted Hudson River.
