Vronsky and Anna first dance together at an elaborate ball, but the actual filming of this scene was far from romantic. "It was absolutely hell," Knightley recalled. "Three day shoot, 12-14 hours, and everybody got ill. Everybody got ill. What's really annoying is that [Joe Wright] only used about 2 or 3 different shots!"
