MH: Your "mashup" style of combining the worlds of different pop culture icons reminds us of the way DJs mix disparate sounds together to create new styles of music. How has music in general come to influence your style?

RS: I think there’s a definite link between music and art. They’re just two different ways of expressing the same creative impulse. I listen to music to get me in the mood to draw or help me get inspiration.
