New Horizons Mission to Pluto

In 2006, Pluto was famously robbed of its status as a real planet, and was relabeled a dwarf planet. In the same year, NASA launched the New Horizons Mission to visit it, almost as if to comfort the poor little world after its downgrade. Currently the New Horizons spacecraft is about halfway there, and is scheduled to reach Pluto in 2015. It will then explore the mysterious Kuiper Belt in the outskirts of the solar system.
