Brother Planet

Curiosity has ignited a lot of enthusiasm about Martian research, and two follow-up missions have been scheduled to join our favorite rover. In November 2013, the MAVEN probe will launch, and is scheduled to be in orbit around Mars in September 2014. Then in 2016, NASA will launch the InSight lander, which will actually drill deep into Mars to better understand how the planet formed. Meanwhile, NASA is also working with SpaceX on developing a manned landing on Mars by 2030.
