There's been a lot of activity in the Star Trek universe this week. The trailer was released for the upcoming movie Star Trek Into Darkness (which posed more questions than it answered), pictures were released of Benedict Cumberbatch in some sort of Enterprise brig, and a nine-minute sneak preview of the new movie will be shown to anyone going to see The Hobbit in IMAX 3D on opening weekend. We thought to celebrate all things Trek that we'd give you a roundup of some of our favorite Star Trek parody videos. There are a TON out there, but these are a few of the most inventive.
Call Me Trekkie
Someone has a lot of time on their hands. Or are just really big Carly Rae Jepsen fans. In any case, this painstakingly collaged video answers the question "What would it sound like if the entire cast of Star Trek NG talk-sang Call Me Maybe?" You know you were asking yourself the same question.
Animaniacs On a Five Year Mission...
The beloved 1990's animated series made parody their bread and butter. They did amazing mock-ups of all things pop culture, including many popular musicals like Les Miserables and Sweeney Todd. So it made sense that they had to skewer Star Trek eventually. And they did, with the usual charm and wit that was their trademark.
Star Trek Cribs
Haven't you ever wanted to see what kind of pad the most famous of all Vulcans has? And how he kicks it when he's chillaxin'? Well, wonder no more. G4 answers that question in this claymation short that shows all of us how Spock gets down in the off hours. Live long and hollah!
