Top 12 Doomsday Prophecies That Never Came to Pass

Ancient Romans believed that their leader, Romulus, had been visited by 12 eagles who warned him of a coming apocalypse in 634 BCE. When the date came and passed, they didn't doubt the myth—they doubted their calculations, and re-set the date for 389 BCE. No word on why they trusted 12-packs of eagles so much.
