Born in 1750, Joanna Southcott was a fanatic who claimed that she was pregnant with a second Messiah at 64-years-old. He was to be born on December 25th, 1814, and instead of a baby shower, the birth would be followed by the apocalypse. When the date arrived, Southcott's followers claimed the child had been immediately beamed up to the sky. Southcott herself died two days later.
