Goru, Mali

Goru is celebrated by the Dogon people of Mali on the solstice. It commemorates the delivery of the first humans to the Earth by the sky god Amma, who transported Dogon ancestors in a giant ark called the "Aduno Koro." To celebrate it, make a small replica of this ark (such as this one) and serve your feast in it. Pictured: Dogon ritual dancing.
