Koliada, Eastern Europe

Koliada is a Slavic festival that begins on the winter solstice and lasts for 10 days. This is a great holiday to celebrate if you're a fan of Halloween, because it's a wintry riff on it. Children go door to door in disguise, and receive gifts for singing traditional songs. Pictured: Konstiantyn Trutovsky's Christmas Carols in Little Russia.
