The Avengers set new box office records last year, and we're on the edge of our seats to see Iron Man 3 this May. As it turns out, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) enjoyed the resurgence of Iron Man so much, they've decided to make their own super-powered exoskeleton. While the U.S. government is no Stark Industries, they have invested tens of millions of dollars into real life Mech Suits that will allow soldiers to bear much more weight in supplies and artillery while increasing soldier endurance and protection.
