Joe Frazier and Muhammed Ali

Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier had a seriously Heavyweight rivalry. The two were commonly seen as representing two sides of the Civil Rights movement: Ali was allied with Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam, and Frazier was unfairly labeled as a hit man for whites. The brash Ali began smearing his former friend Frazier along these lines, but Frazier won their first fight, "the Match of the Century" in 1971. This spurred huge interest in their next two fights, both of which Ali won. Decades later, the pair patched up their friendship, and said many adorable things about each other.
