Kelly Link is sorta like a younger, trippier, female version of Neil Gaiman. Her prose is rich, and her creative mind will dazzle you. See: Pretty Monsters and her Steampunk! Anthology. Both feature loads of young protagonists who don’t fear magic, wizardry, or anything else, for that matter.
