Stephen King

Most high school teachers don’t assign many works by the man known as the master of horror, so you should take on some of his more epic works like The Stand or The Tommyknockers. They’ll entertain the crap out of you and prep you for college courses that’ll cram several 1000+ pagers by Trollope and Dickens into the same semester. Or, better yet, check out his memoir On Writing, a must-read for aspiring writers everywhere.
