The raptors of Jurassic Park are way too big to be real Velociraptors, which were only two feet high and weighted about 30 pounds. What JP was actually depicting were Utahraptors, and they were every bit the hyper-intelligent nightmare that the movie makes them out to be. They were six feet tall at the hip and weighed a literal ton. They could bring down enormous animals with the use of teamwork and their massive, sickle-like claws. The Utahraptor displayed here resembles the Spielberg version, but paleontologists have since discovered much more about Utahraptors, including that they sported feathers.
