There are a bunch of great sci-fi books for teens coming out this fall (like The 5th Wave, which is about a girl named Cassie who's trying to survive an alien invasion!).
But is "science fiction" the best way to describe these books?
That term makes us think of powder blue uniforms, middle-aged dudes who are realllllyyyyy into cosplay (NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!), and enraging Ridley Scott movies. We think sci-fi teen fiction deserves its very own genre designation, something that says, "Yes, I am a genre featuring aliens and apocalypses, but I'm written expressly for people who do not have wrinkles yet. I'm HIP! I'm WITH IT!" Do you agree with us? Then take this poll!
