Fantastic Freaking Fractals!

So what is a fractal exactly? Wikipedia describes it as "a mathematical set that has a fractal dimension that usually exceeds its topological dimension and may fall between the integers." If that description did nothing but confuse you, don't worry, it confuses the heck out of us too!
