Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell

This novel is one of best known examples of dystopian science fiction. It follows a man called Winston while he tries to escape from a crazy totalitarian government to be with his true love, Julia. The government, known by a mascot called Big Brother, has other ideas, as things are made increasingly difficult for the hero.
