BBC's Ghostwatch

In 1992, the BBC aired a live paranormal investigation, featuring the network’s top reporters, of a family menaced by the malevolent spirits of “Pipes” and his deceased cats. Viewers at home watched in horror as Pipes wreaked havoc on the family and film crew, possessing the children and filling the entire house with the sound of screeching cats. In a terrifying twist, the broadcast inadvertently served as a massive seance, imbuing the ghost with enough energy to invade the BBC studio. Public hysteria ensued, but was it real? Nah, just a really convincing drama.
