Fridtjof Nansen

You can pretty much tell this guy's a badass just by looking at him check out that luscious moustache! Nansen, like Clean, was attracted to polar exploration, but he was a virtuoso of the North rather than the South. Born a generation before Shackleton, Nansen's innovations in polar exploration equipment would heavily influence all Arctic and Antarctic travelers after him. This crazy maniac crossed Greenland for the first time in 1888, and pushed further towards the North Pole than anyone before him, reaching a record latitude of 86 degrees. In later life, he used his fame and influence to pursue humanitarian causes, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1938. A true hero, inside and out, Nansen's influence has even reached the moon, where a crater bears his name.
