Looking For Alaska, John Green

Perfect for a Rainy Day Because: Its narrator hooks you immediately, and it has some wonderful uses of rain images and metaphors (“if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was hurricane”).

Plot: While it wouldn’t be wrong to compare this boarding school love story to Catcher in the Rye, the two are quite different. The protagonist, Miles Halter, is WAY more relatable than Holden Caulfield, and John Green is sweeter and more accessible than Salinger. You’ll thank us for this one!
