Century Egg

Hard-boiled eggs smell bad enough, but the Chinese dish known as the century egg is enough to probably knock out an elephant. There are more modern, convenient methods to create century eggs, yet adamant purists hold true to the time-consuming traditional method. Plaster made from tea, wood ash, quicklime, and sea salt covers the egg, allowing it to age appropriately without succumbing to outside factors that would cause it to spoil—making it smell far worse, if you can imagine.
