Unfortunately, there are entire hours of the day when we have to put down the controllers & headsets, leave our laptops behind, and live our lives in the real world. Let’s let everyone know where our loyalties lie—sports people do it! In retrospect, that last sentences had a lot of “L” words in there, but whatever.
While we can’t attest to the quality of any of these items, we can say they look really cool and seem like they would be fun to wear. Maybe give one a whirl and see how many extra lives you get.
Portal 2 Test Candidate Hoodie
Inspired by: Portal 2
GLaDOS is errywhere. School. Work. That horrible family wedding with all the swans. You know, sometimes you just need to be able to WOMPF yourself a way out… in your mind. Zip into this bad boy and you will probably still be hanging out with all those swans, but at least you’ll look like you have way more pressing business to handle.
Spiritual Stones Necklace
Inspired by: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
So pretty, guys! We started trying to look for ocarina-inspired jewelry basically because “ocarina” might be the most beautiful word in all of video game-dom so it would stand to reason it would be involved in beautiful accessories—and thus, these necklaces came into our lives and we're now forever changed. PLUS! When you get all three spiritual stones, you can open the Door of Time so, not to brag or anything, but you’d be pretty baller. Fire, water or forest? Only you can decide.
Assassin’s Creed III T-Shirt Aveline
Inspired by: Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation
If you don't own a Vita and haven't played Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, don't worry. Turns out it's super easy to get sucked into an Internet vortex concerning its main character Aveline de Grandpré. But let's talk tees first. This one's instantly “YO! Female protagonist up in here!” Not to mention, the design is great and it's always way better when gamer gear goes graphic as opposed to plastering the name of the game all over the thing. It just looks cooler.
Now back to Aveline’s story arc. Fall into that sandtrap here.
8 Bit Bosses
Inspired by: Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! & more old-school faves
Obsessed. That is all.
Vote Dent Sticker iPhone 4 Case
Inspired by: Batman: Arkham City
There are a lot of awesome Arkham City and other iPhone cases on Zazzle but if we want to base it on aesthetics alone, this one’s pretty rad. Two drawbacks? It’s only for iPhone 4/4s and it’s kinda pricey... still, worth it? Can we suggest flipping a coin?
Imperial Dragon Symbol Messenger Bag
Inspired by: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
There’s no shortage of messenger bags as part of the gamer merch online universe. But frankly, most don’t look like they can be trusted. This one seems a bit sturdier and it has a padded laptop sleeve so that’s a win. It’s also made of ballistic nylon—which is basically regular nylon after it has Hulked out (turns out you WOULD like nylon when it’s angry).
World of Warcraft Monk Women’s Premium Zip-Up Hoodie
Inspired by: World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria
Just like with sports, when they try to make “lady gamer” apparel, it ends up looking all pink and small and boob-tastic. Heads up, designers of “guy stuff”! There’s no such thing as guy stuff. Also, you don’t have to make it pink so we can relate to it. We’ll wear whatever color we want. And this WoW hoodie is what we want. Look at those buttons!
Monserat De Lucca Pac Man Earrings
Inspired by: Pac Man
This is probably the only affordable thing on ShopBop.com, and to be fair, it’s more of a fashion-y fashion site than purely game gear. Still, these earrings make us laugh. One side of your head trying to eat the other side of your head? Well played, fashion people. Well played.
Inspired by: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
It's pretty obvious which side we'd go for were it our choice (hint: deuces), but it's reversible so you can make your own decisions (but seriously... hint: deuces).
And finally, let’s be happy these ladies got all their money, because this is the some of the coolest stuff around.
Which of this gear would you wear?
