J.A.R.V.I.S.

The Movie: Tony Stark's AI companion J.A.R.V.I.S. has an insanely astute emotional intelligence, and can even make jokes at Stark's expense.

Real Life: We like J.A.R.V.I.S. and we don't blame the movie for having an awesome AI character. Tony Stark is a mega-genius, and if we had a real Stark, maybe the problem of AI would be solved in real life too. But since this is about scientific inaccuracies, it bears mentioning that the emotional sophistication J.A.R.V.I.S. demonstrates is one of the biggest white whales in artificial intelligence. There's a whole field called "affective computing" trying to tackle this problem. Some scientists have succeeded in creating a robot that can recognize jokes, but computers that can be creatively sarcastic, as J.A.R.V.I.S. is, are incredibly complex and likely decades away.
