This issue is a lot like time travel to the past: there are outlier scientists who refuse to take no for an answer, so perhaps if we're lucky one day we will find a way to transcend the speed of light. And like time travel, we can't blame science fiction for using it (imagine how boring scifi would be without time travel and FTL travel!) so "worst prediction" is a little harsh here. We're just saying it's unlikely to ever happen in real life. For some reason, the universe is really finicky about that whole cosmic speed limit thing, and it repeatedly resists experiments attempting to exceed the speed of light. We really hope we're wrong about this one though, because we've been dying to check out the Betelgeuse star system forever.
