Daredevil and Elektra

And the Marvel Universe's train of abject sadness continues to chug its merry way down the track, pulling in to pick up Daredevil from the platform. In 1981, comic book visionary Frank Miller introduced Elektra in Daredevil #168 as an enemy and, due to conflicts of morality, forbidden lover for the series' titular protagonist. In a little over a year, the fleeting love Daredevil felt in his life was abruptly ended when his nemesis, Bullseye, killed Elektra in a battle to decide who would become the Kingpin's top assassin. Although Elektra was—albeit controversially—resurrected, their amorous rapport was changed forever.
