Legend, Mary Lu (available now)

This dystopian novel is both a love story and a revenge saga—and it succeeds as both, without ever feeling too clichéd. Here’s the sitch: North America is divided into two dueling factions: the Republic and the Colonies. June, a 15 year-old girl from the Republic, who is being groomed for militaristic greatness, is sent to find Day, a 15 year-old Colonial dude who she thinks is responsible for the murder of her brother. When she realizes he’s not, and that her friends might be her enemies, things get tricky.
