The Forever War

Generally credited with popularizing the military sci-fi genre in the 1980s, The Forever War is about one man who joins a space-faring military. He fights aliens and goes through the kind of trauma that all soldiers go through, only to find himself having a severe problem with readjusting to Earth society when he gets home.
