Cyberpunk and Beyond

The technological advancements made in the '80s changed the science fiction landscape once more, resulting in the "Cyberpunk" movement. Books, anime, and films such as Blade Runner began placing the spotlight on the roguish, apathetic characters or used the theme as a backdrop. The effects of Cyberpunk are more far-reaching than one might expect, its influence enduring in a world where these fantastic depictions of the future are gradually becoming reality.
