Dolly, the Duplicate

Speaking of animal-inspired medical miracles, let's talk Dolly, the first mammal ever to be cloned. Technically, Dolly had three different mothers: one who provided the egg, another the DNA, and a third to carry her to term. That's a lot of Mommies! This breakthrough has led to speculation about cloning other animals, even extinct ones, such as the Wooly mammoth! So not only did Dolly revolutionize our understanding of genetics, she may be a key part of the resurrection of long-dead species. Perhaps the Stephens Island wren will outlive Tibbles after all!
