The first issue of Action Comics hit newsstands on April 18th, 1938, and seeing as how WWII started only a year later, his timing was impeccable. The comic cost a mere ten cents, but in 2011, nearly three quarters of a century later, the issue would fetch 2.16 MILLION dollars. Think of all the tights you could buy with that!!!
