Dave Chappelle is badass in far too many ways to count. His career arc reminds us of Bill Watterson's work with Calvin & Hobbes: both artists developed a spectacularly original and cheeky voice, both hated the constant pressure to sell out the integrity of their work, and both said, "see y'all later" when they were pushed too far. Chappelle ruled the comedy world with Chappelle's Show, and preferred to kill it than water it down. As if that wasn't ballsy enough, he then went on a soul-searching pilgrimage, came home, and threw the best party that anyone has ever heard of. The resulting documentary is a manifesto on how to have fun, and also has features some pretty great Mos Def/Chappelle banter.
