Dialogue Sample: “Nothing happens in contradiction to nature, only in contradiction to what we know of it.”

Made the List Because: The no-nonsense Scully was all about science, all the time. She was the perfect foil to Mulder’s wandering wonderer—she brought a levity to scenes that wouldn’t have been there had she been a mere one-note sidekick. With degrees in both physics and medicine, she was often Queen Autopsy, getting literally hands deep in gross to get the info she desired. Plus, she gets props for being one of TV’s first breakout female scientists.
