The Craziest Stuff to Come Out of 3D Printers... So Far!

By Robert Punchur

You can make pretty much anything with a 3D printer. Actually... you can make ANYTHING with a 3D printer. Sure, maybe there are still some limitations now, but the technology has progressed so ridiculously fast, that it isn't a stretch to imagine house, spaceships, and cars coming out of these things in a hand full of years. Here are some of the craziest things we've seen made from 3D printers... so far!

3D Printed Bicycle

The bicycle in that last video is definitely the most technologically advanced bike since the one that ET flew over the moon. It is also a perfect example of 3D printers’ vast versatility. Along with functional machine parts, the printers can also be programmed to make decorative art, prosthetic limbs, or even paper! If you really think about it, nothing is stopping the printer from printing a printer which could print a printer which could print a printer which could print a printer which could print a printer which could print a set of Russian dolls!

The 3D Printer Show in London

So many insane applications including, most creepily, the computers that design their own 3D printed objects WITHOUT HUMAN INTERACTION. Next stop, Terminator 2!

3D Printed Handgun

This is by far the most controversial item ever 3D printed. It brought 3D printing into the mainstream and made international headlines with pundits arguing both for and against legislation monitoring printed guns. Ultimately, however, the debate is moot since someone smart enough to configure programming is also most likely to fight his battles using a bowstaff. Take a look at the video and judge for yourself.

Do you think there should be any limitations put on what can and can't be 3D printed?
