The Roundhay Garden Scene

The Roundhay Garden Scene was filmed in 1888, making it the oldest surviving movie. At only two seconds long, it depicts the director's family wandering around a posh garden having a good old Victorian time. Sure, it's not The Avengers, but it was revolutionary for its time and it immortalizes a fascinating slice of 19th Century life. Check it out here.
