Timmins' Ancient Reservoir
Timmins, Ontario is a quiet mining town, but in May of this year it attracted some media attention after an unusual discovery—the oldest water in the world. A deep, isolated reservoir of "high quality H20" was discovered near the town, dating back to at least 1.5 billion years ago. The ancient agua is giving scientists vital insights into the primordial world, though apparently one of them risked a little taste and reported that it was pretty disgusting. We probably could have told her that. Why doesn't anyone ask us these things first?
