One day, Mother Nature was wondering how she could possibly make the shark body plan more amazing. Then it occurred to her — why not make its caudal fin into a scythe? And that is the origin story of the thresher shark. This animal's gorgeous tail fin, which looks like some kind of sacred ninja sword, can be as long as the thresher's body. Threshers use the tail as a weapon, most often as by stunning their prey. They also enjoy using their butt-sword to herd their lunchables, or to slap the water's surface, which wigs the poor victims out. Like makos, threshers are partially warm blooded, and they also enjoy breaching when the whimsy strikes them.
