Future Earth – Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Okay, so Earth isn’t fictional. Our existence proves this. But the alternate “future” Earth depicted in Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and the film adaptation Blade Runner is fictional and awesome. Most of the wealthy people have fled to Mars following World War III, which seriously messed up Earth’s ecosystem. It’s sort of a cyberpunky vision of the “future” (1992 in the novel, 2019 in the film), with a great aesthetic and tons of societal depth, especially in the book.
