Get ready to geek out science nerds! Smithsonian scientists announced some big news this August. For the first time in 35 years, a new species of carnivore has been discovered on the American continents. The mammal, which looks like a cross between a house cat and a teddy bear, has been the victim of mistaken identity for over 100 years and took over a decade to be discovered. It's such a rare discovery in the 21st century that we decided to find out all you need to know about this amazing new animal.
